In the wake of police´s crackdown in Itahari and surrounding areas, some restaurant owners have even started to marry women first and later force them into prostitution. One such case has recently surfaced when a victim filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Itahari, against the owner of Pushpanjali Hotel in Itahari.

The hotelier allegedly married a 19-year-old girl and then forced her into sexual relationship with visitors. The police however claim that such cases are mere exceptions and that flesh trade has now been controlled to a great extent in Itahari and the surrounding areas. The police have recently arrested seven women and pimps for being part of prostitution rings.myrepublica
